SANTIAGO, RD.- Las Estrellas Orientales triunfaron por cuarta ocasión seguida y se adueñaron del segundo lugar en el Round Robin del Torneo de Béisbol Otoño Invernal 2021-22, opción a la Copa BanReservas y dedicado al general (ERD) Kalil Haché In Memoriam.
La noche de este martes, los Orientales se impusieron en un cerrado partido, 4 vueltas por 3 a las Águilas Cibaeñas, escenificado en el Estadio Cibao, de la ciudad de Santiago.
Un récord de 7-6 (4-3 en la ruta y 3-3 en su casa) le valió a los verdes a posicionarse en el segundo puesto del Todos contra Todos, alejándose a 2.0 partidos de los ocupantes del tercer peldaño en el que se encuentra las Águilas y los Tigres del Licey que registran 5-8.
Los Gigantes comandan la tabla de posiciones con marca de 9-4.
Un total de 11 hits pegaron los bates petromacorisanos para anotar sus cuatro carreras, tres de ellas en el primer inning ante el lanzador abridor de las Águilas, Carlos -El Tsunami- Martínez, que encabezó Domingo Leyba con un sencillo al bosque derecho con el que empujó a Robinson Canó (hit al LF) y Yamaico Navarro, quien con un rodado había impulsado la primera carrera con rodado al cuadro y anotó Junior Lake (hit al LF).
La cuarta anotación de las Estrellas, que puso el marcador 4-0, fue en el cuarto capítulo contra el relevista mamey Cristopher Molina y la impulsó Canó con un metrallazo que tumbó el intermedista Luis Valenzuela, lo que aprovechó Lake para anotar en carrera, tras pegar doblete al bosque izquierdo.
Los aguiluchos anotaron su primera carrera en el sexto cuando el relevista verde Fernando Abad le dio bases por bolas a Ramón Torres con las bases llenas y anotó Francisco Peña desde la antesala. Y dos más en el séptimo inning ante el pitcher Luis González, un cuadrangular de Melky Cabrera con Jimmy Paredes (BB) en base que voló la verja del LF.
Ganó Andy Otero (1-0), quien abrió el encuentro por las Estrellas y lanzó 5.0 episodios, dos hits, una carrera limpia, dos transferencias y un ponchado.
Perdió “El Tsunami” Martínez (0-2) en una breve labor monticular de 0.2 inning, cuarto hits, tres carreras -una limpia- y una base por bolas.
